7 Ways To Take Back Your Time
by Steven Huskey,
Excelerator Coaching Services
What is time and why does it matter? "Time", I once heard someone say long ago, "is what keeps one darn thing after another from becoming every darn thing at once!" You can tell a great deal about a culture or society by its perspective on time. "Time is money." I read that people around the world use this phrase to describe American culture. But . . .
In India, they say: "Time is free."
In Africa: "The clock did not invent man."
In Japan: "Time spent laughing is time spent with the Gods."
In Italy: "He who goes slowly goes safely and goes far."
In Spain: Those who rush arrive first at the grave." (Ferreira, 10)
According to Aesop (in the fable of The Tortoise and The Hare): "Slow and steady wins the race."
And, according to Marilyn Monroe: "I've been on a calendar, but I've never been on time."
Regardless of the philosophy, time is necessary for doing. We all have the same amount of time -- 24 hours each day, the difference is in how we use them. "Time," said Robert Pagliarini, "is the great equalizer."
In one week, we are given 168 hours . . . 10,800 minutes . . . 604,800 seconds.
This may sound like a lot, so where does all that time go? Well, consider this.
Let's say you sleep 8 hours a day, more or less. (For some, it's a lot less, for others, a lot more.) That's 8 hours per day times 7 days, or 56 hours per week. 168 hours - 56 = 112 hours remaining.
Then there's personal hygiene - bathing, going to the bathroom, brushing your teeth, shaving, combing your hair, doing your makeup. Conservatively, that's at least 1 hour per day times 7 days. 112 hours - 7 = 105 hours remaining.

It’s Your Body Talking – Can you hear me now? with Cherri Walker
Did you know that along with your IQ, you also have a BQ (body quotient)? You have a constant ally in all your experiences – your body. This ally knows you implicitly and can provide insight in decision-making, dream-building, and everyday life. Please join Certified Life Coach and teacher, Cherri Walker, for an evening of collaboration between your mind and body and learn to listen to the definite and reliable signals your body is telling you. The information in this meet-up is derived from the teachings and coaching of Steve Sisgold, author of the book, “What is Your Body Telling You.” You have heard of outer body experiences perhaps. This meet-up works toward an inner body experience. Open to anyone; however, life experience is necessary. Please have an open mind and of course, bring your own body!!!
