Program goal: to train coaches to provide services that will create options for work and personal life building meaningful and fulfilling lives. This is done while simultaneously healing emotional pain and stress through unleashing the client’s inner potential. Inner potential consists of teaching the client to access their deepest knowledge learned over a life time stored in the subconscious mind as well as accessing a creative force (however the client defines it.).
The program emphasizes life coaching integrated with the ability to do business and executive coaching.
LCI Coaching: Coaching focuses on helping people to create the lives they want and to set up goals and strategies for doing that. Unlike counseling it does not go into past problems to any great degree, nor does it focus on problems. Rather coaching makes a reality of what people want.
From 20 years of experience as a life coach, Dr. Dianne Greyerbiehl has built a framework for coaching that involves accessing both the conscious and subconscious mind, as well as a creative force as defined by the client. It focuses on what people want and how to make that happen. However, both internal and external barriers get in the way of achieving the goals of building a better life. In order to move forward, those barriers must be moved out of the way. Sometimes, it involves just problem solving how to do this and setting up new strategies for coping with the problem. Sometimes, however, it involves going into a deep change process where some knowledge of counseling techniques and deep change strategies are essential.
The deep change process involves knowing how to help clients access their intuitive wisdom (subconscious knowledge) where solutions to the barriers lay. This includes knowing a range of techniques from three distinct fields of research positive psychology, neuropsychological functioning and deeper consciousness. Techniques that are taught from these areas include visualization, some Gestalt approaches, brain-based training approaches, mindfulness, positive psychology strategies, finding the empowered self using narrative therapy, core transformation and accessing the client’s own spiritual resources.
Coaching Philosophy: We believe you create your lifestyle through your intentions (what you want), beliefs and choices. The result is a mixture of positive and negative outcomes. Consequently, it’s important to emphasize building what you want through establishing a life plan, while learning how to manage your problems.
To do this it’s important to pay attention to all aspects of living – spirit/life meaning, mind, emotional, physical and interpersonal realities. However, we believe that the spirit/life meaning domain is the driving force for creating positive life choices and opportunities in daily living. This force consists of your intuitive inner self and a creative force (as you define it).
We believe you have the capacity within yourself to solve your problems and build the life you want. However, you may need help learning how to access this intuitive inner knowledge. We provide that help through coaching to facilitate the growth of inner potential, change thinking patterns, improve communication and produce a thriving life.
